In this tutorial, a project on creating a wireless RFID reader will be implemented. The model of RFID reader used here is RFID reader 232N (RFID-IDR-232N) which actually can be connected to PC directly through RS232 using the DB9 (Male) of its cable for sending tag’s IDs scanned to computer.Somehow, the establishment of a wireless RFID reader enable the RFID reader to be place a t a further distance from the PC since the cable length constraint is eliminated but still can sends the tag’s IDs scanned to PC through the wireless link.
Ever think to create a wireless servo controller to control movement of servo motor at a distance? If yes, this tutorial is totally applicable to you. In this tutorial, a wireless servo controller circuit will be established and a servo motor will be controlled wirelessly from a computer through a Servo Control Panel GUI provided by Cytron Technologies.
In this tutorial, I will explain some sample code to drive the two DC motors in sign-magnitude PWM mode, locked-antiphase PWM mode and simplified serial mode. Thus, all of the sample code that given in this tutorial will only drive two DC motors in clockwise by pressing SW1 and in counter-clockwise by pressing SW2.
The Arduino main boards such as Arduino-Deumilanove (Arduino-Due) which embedded with Atmel microcontrollers are quite popular due to its easy-to-use programming environment. Therefore, by interface Arduino main board with MDS40A, we easier to control the DC motors if compare to PIC microcontroller. In addition, further adding an Arduino-LCD Keypad Shield can help us to control the DC motor that connected to MDS40A with the 6 momentary push buttons (built-in push buttons on LCD keypad shield including 1 Reset button) and also display some useful message by programming.
Bluetooth wireless communication is becoming more and more common recently. In response to this trend, Cytron Technologies has came up with a new Bluetooth module called BlueBee, which provides hobbyists a wireless remote control on their microcontroller circuits thus robots through serial port communication service attached with BlueBee. In the section, a simple project will be constructed to illustrate how to use BlueBee for wireless communication to interface another Cytron product, breadboard friendly Arduino, BBFuino to control LEDs.
Flexibot Driver 4 Channels (FD04A) is special designed to drive up to 4 DC brush motors. It offers low cost and easy to use DC motor driver capable of driving up 4 DC brush motors and the current can goes up to 3-Ampere. By interfacing with Arduino Duemilanove (Arduino-Due), the board is ready for driving up motors with direction, start, stop and speed control.
